Inspiration | A Tortured Reputation: A TTPD x REP Inspired Editorial at Noir KC

After Taylor Swift’s new album annoucment, I finally submitteed this for publication. I have yet to hear back, but I must’ve had some sort of premonition. with the help of dana’s original written concept, this was my submission:

”This wedding editorial was months in the making, and I've kept it under wraps for just as long. Shot in November 2024, I've been holding on to it for the 'right time.' Unfortunately for the team (but very much fortunately for Taylor Swift) it appears that moment, as we foresaw it, was not meant to be.

With this styled shoot our team wanted to acknowledge the Tortured Poet's Era while foreshadowing the coming of Reputation, Taylor's Version. The concept for this editorial revolved around capturing the haunting beauty, mystique, and drama of TTPD. We wanted to evoke the essence of a hidden literary society, where art, love, heartbreak, and emotion overflowed. Ultimately, creating a glimpse into a dark, poetic world; introspective & elegant yet tinged with an undercurrent of rebellion. We wanted this shoot to speak to both the tortured artist and the glamourous outsider by channeling REPUTATION vibes with a literary twist. Each shot should feel like a moment plucked from a secret soiree of lovers and creatives living on the edge of beauty and chaos.

Shot on digital, 35mm, and 110mm film; draping florals, moody bridal looks, old typewriters, book pages, and the sweetest python (his name is Monty), made up the majority of this design. However, plenty of personal nods to Taylor's music and love life were considered and hidden throughout this shoot, but perhaps the most important of them all is the inclusion of the getaway car. Personally owned by Travis Kelce, he donated this 1969 Chevelle to Operation Breakthrough, where he assisted students in converting it into a fully functioning electric muscle car. This added a unique personal twist to the lore of this editorial. So although Reputation, Taylor's Version is most likely not in the works, we can imagine Taylor & Travis driving toward a new, joyous era that's yet to be unveiled.”

Yeah, so I was referring to her reclaiming her masters in the first paragraph, and the fact I tied it all back to us having used Travis’s car in the end,.. well that really all worked out in my favor. Regardless this shoot was so so stunning, if not a little chaotic in execution (IYKYK). Either way it’s work I’m really proud of and a shoot i was honorerd to help create.
