Lifestyle | Vintage Inspired Portraits in Downtown Overland Park

I’m a such a sucker for mom and daughter portraits, and this shoot was absolutely no exception. Utilizing two of my favorite semi-abandoned, charmingly patinaed locations, I followed behind these two one breezy day in May. My general approach to photographing children is to meet them where they are at. If they want to pose for the camera, so be it. If they want to run around and play, let's do that instead. My favorite photos are those that seem to capture people exactly as they are, and these two were so much fun to capture in their natural playfulness and curiosity. I don't think I posed a single shot that day. As luck would have it, I also had a few remaining exposures on one of my film cameras. The 35mm shots really encapsulate that vintage feel we were hoping to achieve.
